AI-ready access to building data
Haltian IoT is taking its first step toward making building and sensor data easier to use in AI-driven workflows. With new integration capabilities, AI tools and automation platforms can begin to access real-time data from Haltian IoT more easily. This opens the door to future use cases such as automated facility reports, AI-assisted space management, and faster insight generation from occupancy, environmental and asset data.
For customers, the value is simple: building data becomes easier to use, easier to connect and easier to turn into action.
Technical note: this release includes the first integration based on Model Context Protocol, or MCP.
Single Sign-On for enterprise access management
Single Sign-On is now available for Haltian IoT customers. Organizations can connect Haltian IoT to their existing identity provider, such as Microsoft Entra ID or SAML. This makes user access easier to manage, especially in large enterprises with multiple teams, sites and sub-organizations.
Benefits include:
- Centralized user management
- Fewer separate accounts
- Easier onboarding and offboarding
- Stronger access control
- A smoother experience for enterprise IT teams
This supports the needs of customers where IT, real estate, workplace and facility teams all need secure access to shared workplace data.
Real-time data for customer systems
Haltian IoT now offers improved support for real-time data streaming. This makes it easier for customers to connect sensor data to their own analytics, data platforms, reporting tools and operational systems. For organizations with their own data infrastructure, this helps bring workplace and building data into the wider enterprise data ecosystem.
This can support use cases such as:
- Real-time dashboards
- Data lake integrations
- Advanced analytics
- Workplace reporting
- Facility automation
- AI and machine learning workflows
Technical note: Haltian IoT delivers sensor data over MQTT by default. This release adds Kafka as an optional streaming integration for organizations with their own data infrastructure.
Active device reporting
A new automated reporting capability gives customers, operators and partners a clear view of active device counts across organizations and sub-organizations — the basis for IoT service billing. This reduces manual reporting work and provides clearer, more transparent data for service management and billing.
Benefits include:
- Less manual reporting
- Clearer usage visibility
- Better support for customer and partner operations
- More transparent service billing
- Audit-ready reporting
This is especially valuable in larger deployments where device counts, sub-organizations and service structures need to be managed consistently.
New compact gateway for global deployments
The new XS Gateway is a compact gateway designed for international rollouts. It connects to the Haltian IoT cloud over cellular or Ethernet and supports an exceptionally wide range of LTE frequency bands, covering the band configurations used by mobile operators across Europe, North America, Asia-Pacific and beyond.
For customers and partners deploying across multiple countries or regions, this means fewer connectivity surprises and less time spent validating local network compatibility.
For customers and partners, this means:
- More flexible deployment options
- Better support for international rollouts
- A compact option for smaller installations
- Easier connectivity planning across different markets
- A stronger foundation for scalable multi-site deployments
The XS Gateway complements the existing Global gateway.
ENTRYWAY moves to full product status
Haltian ENTRYWAY is moving from project-based delivery to full product status.
This means it becomes easier to order, deploy and scale as part of Haltian IoT occupancy solutions. For customers and partners, this improves predictability and supports repeatable deployments through standard channels.
Studio Web updates for easier device management
The web-based Studio management application now includes new features that make everyday device management easier.
New capabilities include:
- Battery alert view for devices with low or critical battery status
- Device group creation and management
- Battery status visible directly in the device list
These updates help operational teams manage device fleets more efficiently and react before small maintenance needs become larger issues.
This supports one of Haltian IoT’s core strengths: making large IoT environments easier to deploy, monitor and maintain.
New tools for partners and system operators
The Partner Toolkit now includes new capabilities for partners and system operators managing Haltian IoT deployments.
The updates support:
- Organization-level API management
- Device management operations
- More efficient support for multi-customer environments
- Better tools for scalable partner-led deployments
For partners, this makes Haltian IoT easier to include as part of a broader workplace, facility or software offering. Haltian IoT is especially relevant for partners whose own workplace software gains value from reliable IoT data.
R3 / Q2 2026
Multi-sensor intelligence for real-time occupancy
| Area | What’s new | Customer value |
| Workplace intelligence | New occupancy intelligence capability (ODE) | Better understanding of how offices, meeting rooms, floors and departments are actually used |
| ENTRYWAY | ENTRYWAY firmware and hardware updates | Smoother rollout planning and improved deployment reliability |
A smarter way to measure occupancy
The new Occupancy Detection Engine (ODE) provides a high-accuracy, real-time view of space usage by combining data from complementary sensor types.
By integrating people counting at entry points (Haltian ENTRYWAY) with area-level activity detection (Thingsee PRESENCE), the platform delivers a more complete and reliable picture than single-sensor systems. This logic-based approach allows organizations to answer critical questions about their facilities with higher confidence.
It helps answer practical questions such as:
- Is this meeting room occupied right now?
- How many people are using this floor or department area?
- Which spaces are underused?
- Where is demand highest during the day or week?
- Are current spaces matched to real workplace needs?
Instead of relying only on bookings or manual checks, this multi-sensor intelligence provides a deterministic view of real space usage. This supports workplace and real estate teams in right-sizing offices, improving layouts, planning services and making better lease or investment decisions.
The new occupancy capability supports use cases such as:
- Meeting room occupancy
- Floor and department-level people counting
- Open office and zone-level utilization
- Space planning and workplace redesign
- Data-driven facility services
- Portfolio and lease decision support
For workplace and facility teams, this means less guesswork and more evidence-based decisions.
ENTRYWAY readiness improvements
Haltian ENTRYWAY capabilities have been further strengthened to support more reliable deployments and prepare the solution for broader product availability.
For customers and partners, this means smoother rollout planning and a stronger foundation for scalable occupancy deployments.
