I started at Haltian in 2020 as an SW trainee. After a six month project and my introduction period, I did my master’s thesis at Haltian. Since then, I have continued here as an SW designer.
I jumped to working at Haltian straight from school. I studied industrial engineering and management at the University of Oulu from which I got my master’s in December 2020. Before that, I studied information technology, which has been very useful for my role here at Haltian.
Mostly, I’ve been working on web development for Empathic Building but I’ve also been working with system monitoring, creating Empathic Building digital twins and internal development projects. All in all, I can say that during my time here, I’ve had my hands on many different kinds of things.
What do you enjoy most in working at Haltian?
During my studies my interest was divided between SW and business development. In light of this what I’ve enjoyed most while working in Haltian has been the diversity work and projects. Here, I’ve had the chance to do so many different kinds of things and I’ve had the chance to influence what it is that I want to do. I’ve tried out different roles, and while it has sometimes been a challenge, I’ve had to chance to learn a lot.
Something about me
In my free time, I like to exercise a lot. I do CrossFit, run, cycle and cross-country ski depending on the season and weather. In addition to actually doing the sport, I like to track my activities with my sports watch and analyse my performance afterwards. You could even say that while I’m an amateur athlete, my data analytics is on a professional level.
Fun fact about me: when I was younger, I used to hate running, but the data I got from a sports watch actually inspired me to run and now it’s one of my favourite things to do.
